Q.
I have had the same bus contractor, driver, aide and I have now received information
stating that there will be a change.
This is disturbing for my child and myself.
Please explain why this change has occurred.
A. Any or all of the following explanations
may apply:
- The contractor did not elect to renew the route;
- A renewal was not permissible as the annual amount of the contract exceeded the
annual rise in the Consumer Price Index as defined in NJSA 18A:7F-3;
- Pricing has been deemed excessive by your district;
- The school has physically moved;
- MOESC is not in command of a contractor’s employees thus, the contractor may have
reassigned or terminated his/her employee. The employee may have resigned from the
company
- The route may have been an emergency route which must be bid within 90 calendar
days. The possibility of a change exists whenever competitive bidding occurs.
